Adapun pokok-pokok bahasan yang terkandung di surah Al-Balaad, yaitu Sesungguhnya penciptaan manusia oleh Allah Swt. bertujuan untuk berjuang dalam menghadapi kesulitan. Manusia juga dianjurkan untuk tidak mudah terpedaya oleh harta benda maupun kekuasaan; Peringatan bagi manusia atas kenikmatan yang telah Allah Swt. berikan kepadanya.
